Last week on July 26 i took my family to Bear Mountain. Bear Mountain is a good place as a daytrip destination. Almost like 1 hour drive only from Long Island. we reach there around 1:00 PM and stayed there until sunset around 8:00 PM. The Parking fees was $8/=
It was a fun experience we barbecued in front of the lake and then have a dip in the pool. Pool was big enough to cater a large audience but due to starting of summer it was too crowded. My son was little afraid to go in deep but my daughter had fun time, infect i have to make sure that she don't go to deep side of the pool.
There is a small zoo near the pool where you can see some animals including the bears. You can rent the paddle boats if you are interested in boating. we tried to do some fishing but didn't catch a thing.
Most of the views were breath taking. i specially enjoy the view of the river flowing next to the mountain and a bridge across joining the two mountains. While we were driving back we took a scenic drive and you can see heards of deer running in the wild and beautiful lakes. It is one of those places which you should go once or twice a year to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Here are some of the pictures.
